The Holland Marsh
Colorful Carrots
I have photographed the Holland Marsh many times as a backdrop to the agriculture activities in the area.
This portrait of carrots is emblematic of the marsh’s legacy. This image celebrate not only the bounty of the land but also the unseen labor, knowledge, and community that sustain it. Through vibrant colors and honest compositions, I hope to honor the land’s enduring spirit and the nourishment it provides for generations.
I’m excited to have this print (one of two) featured in the juried art exhibit featuring the Holland Marsh Centennial. This exhibit is part of a year-long celebration of the 100th Anniversary of The Holland Marsh. The art show was presented by the Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library in partnership with the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury and the South Simcoe Arts Council.
