Day’s End
Growing season in the Holland Marsh means long days cultivating crops. From planting cultivating, weeding to harvest, the fields are worked from sunrise to sundown. The swirling dust of the marsh soil is highlighted by the setting sun of heading home at day’s end from the field.
I have photographed the Holland Marsh many times as a backdrop to the agriculture activities in the area. This image celebrates not only the bounty of the land but also the labor, knowledge, and community that sustain it.
